How does servicing a hybrid or electric car differ to that of a petrol or diesel powered vehicle?

Although many of the components used in hybrid and electric vehicles are similar, the actual drive system components and the addition of a high voltage battery differ from a regular petrol diesel vehicle quite significantly. Hybrid vehicles still use a small engine bolted to an electric transaxle, whereas electric vehicles purely run off a high voltage battery at times reaching 800 volts, coupled with an electric motor and transaxle, giving zero emissions.
